New Cataclysm Battleground: Twin Peaks

Blizzard revealed details about the new 10vs10 battleground in Cataclysm: Twin Peaks. The rough summary is a WSG with more interesting terrain. Two graveyards for each faction, an asymmetrical area layout, a single bridge crossing the river (which can be crossed by swimming, albeit slower as well) all add to the tactical opportunities of the map. So while the bases of the faction are exactly the same, the surrounding areas are not.
From Blizzard’s description it makes it nearly sound like some TF2 maps – not a big a surprise considering that since the inception of the first battlegrounds, to the introduction of the Arena and recent PvP developments, Blizzard has added more and more non-MMORPG content. Blizzard thus continues to build multiple games into one (classical MMORPG, skill-based match games, mobile ‘fixes’…). It certainly makes one wonder how far the game has come. Maybe WoW two expansions from now will be as different from the current day as we are now from Vanilla. Who knows how far we really are away from World of Warville.
